On behalf of the Board of Emaar Education, we warmly welcome you to Raffles International Schools. As CEO of Emaar Education, it is my pleasure and great honour to represent the organization in developing these exciting educational projects, in particular, the building of the network of Raffles International Schools globally and in particular Dubai.
With the successful opening of the first campus in Dubai at Umm Suqeim (South Campus) in 2007, we are pleased that we have opened our second campus at Umm Suqeim (West Campus) in 2008. Quite apart from the great location (directly opposite and with full view of the iconic Burj Al Arab) of both our campuses, the West Campus will not only have all the facilities that we have put in place for the holistic development of your children but also a flood-lit soccer pitch which houses our FC Barcelona (FCB Escola) Soccer Academy. With the proximity of the two campuses to each other, all our students will be able to enjoy the benefits and privileges of such facilities.
As parents, we understand the desire of each of you to want your children achieve their full potential academically. In addition, schools must also be able to offer exciting and varied programmes both during (co-curricular activities) and after school (extra-curricular activities). Raffles International Schools intend to fulfill these goals of facilitating your children's holistic development through a 3-prong approach by providing quality core-curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
We also believe that these goals can only be achieved when our students are given the opportunity to develop their strengths, rather than being forced into a mould. Whilst our students are supported within the school, we will encourage them to fully engage with the community through various community outreach programmes that may be organized from time to time. Most of all, we want our students to be happy because happy students will be confident and successful.
It is this atmosphere of positive nurturing and encouragement which makes Raffles International Schools a refreshingly different environment to send your children to.
Raffles International Schools plan to follow the International and Singapore Primary Curriculum from Nursery to Year 6. From Years 7 to 10, students will be academically prepared for the IGCSE certificates, and for Years 11 and 12, students will have the options of studying for the American Diploma Programme or "A" Level Courses. In this day and age, IT exposure plays an important role in all areas of learning and our students will be given ample opportunity to acquire IT skills and knowledge.
We pride ourselves in meeting the needs of our students. We believe that all students learn differently and should be able to choose courses to suit their individual needs and strengths in order to be and feel successful.
Raffles International Schools emphasize the value of every child's culture and realize the importance of exposure and understanding of other cultures in this ever-changing globalised world. With this in mind, Raffles International Schools place importance on the learning of second languages for the promotion of global communication, understanding and open-mindedness, while still developing high levels of the English Language skills. Furthermore, with our network of campuses, currently in Singapore and India, we will provide our students with the opportunities of immersing themselves into the cultural richness of the different countries.
Our prospectus and website give you a little more information about our network of Raffles International Schools. It can give no more than a taste of what we can offer your children. We therefore extend a warm invitation to you to meet with us to discuss about your children's needs and to ask any questions you may have about our Schools.
